other side of the world.

so i really need to get used to this blogging thing... cuz i have lots to say but then i don't write it & i forget about it.

so the plane ride wasn't terribly horrible. i watched 4 movies, read like half my book, & tried to sleep a lot. and all the food wasn't too shabby. that was from LAX to Tokyo... about 11 hours. Tokyo to Singyypore was another 5 i think. The 2nd plane was brutal- by this point i no longer wanted to be on a plane. I did watch "Definitely Maybe" with ryan reynolds. mmmm. good movie but it made me all emo and missing randy. aww. anyway, i slept most of that flight. i landed at almost midnite and the pilot said "current temperature in singapore is 82 degrees. what! are you kidding, it's midnite. also, i was kinda confused cuz i left at 1pm on monday afternoon but when i got here it was tuesday nite, almost wednesday. stayed in a hostel 4 the nite & left first thing in the morning to Nanyang (my school. & when u say it u have to say it fast & asian).

first thing i notice- the weather isn't as bad as i thought it would be. being like 2 degrees north of the equator i though would be unbearable. it's bad, but bearable... well, i guess i just have to accept the fact that there's nothing i can do about it.
second thing i notice as the taxi me across the island is that it's sooooo green. not like their favorite color is green or "go green" eco-friendy, but like a jungle green. trees everywhere. my dad wouldn't know what to do with himself haha. but it's so pretty & there definitely aren't this many luscious bushes & trees at home.
3rd thing- lots & lots & lots of tall buildings. apartments i guess. & they all look very nice (borat voice). & everyone hangs their clothes to dry, like out the window. apparently dryers aren't big here.

get to Nanyang (fast & asian) and it's ridiculously huge. & also surrounded by jungle. but there's signs with poison skulls warning you not go in. also, signs that show a guy shooting another guy with a rifle. so i guess we're not allowed in there? anyways, this place is HUGE. and freakin niiiiice. i though sdsu was huge & nice, but this place makes state look like the HoJo ( the howard johnson for those of you who aren't familiar). my dorm is nice, i guess it's like the "cool" dorm. literally because it's one of 2 out of 16 that has air conditioning. but also cuz it's where all the cool kids live. & it's the newest too. pretty chill. & there's 3 free buses that go around school, i'm telling u- it's huge.

oh! also i noticed that seriously all the cars here are nice. like clean shiny & new. apparently it's the law or something. if you don't have a new car you get the death penalty. kidding, but something like that. also, public transportation is huge here. you take the bus & train everywhere. i like. the train is like the trolly in san diego only it doesn't suck ass. and we went to IKEA, yep ikea. & it's just as awesome as back home. and people are nice & polite. it's super clean even though we can never find a trash can. & it's smells like chocolate chip cookies at the train station place.

so i guess that was my first day. i can fer sure get used to this. it's like vacay. i probably missed a lot of things but ill just write em later. we have orientation today, that'll prolly be lame. haha jk hopefully i'll become very informed. geez you sweat even when you're not moving here.

**oh & i got a cell phone! the number is 8424 5162 - but don't call me. that's mostly for mom & dad in cases of extreme emergency.
**hit me up on AIM yo! or ichat, whatev. supersyndy is da name. prolly the easiest & most effective way to keep in touch. the 15 hour time diff mite be an issue but i am online as much as possible.

p.s. when i know my address i'll post it. then you guys can all send me treats

& then while i'm away i'll write home everydayyy

well probably not everyday, i don't want to become a blog nerd. the day is finally here and i'm leeeaving to singapore! i don't think i'll believe it till i'm actually there. i seriously don't know what i am going to do for all that time i have to sit on a plane.

anyway, i miss everyone already. especially all my stupid roommates in san diego. and my friendboy. and my chubby lil doggie pikachu. i am also trying to picture life without my iphone. how am i to ever know where i am if there's isn't a button i can push to zoom in on my location??

it's going to be a strange new world... i'll let you know how it goes!
